Village Wants Resident Input on Downtown, East Side Projects

A community survey is available on the village website or at Village Hall.

An $80,000 grant from the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) will help the village create a plan for developing the east side of Romeoville, which will be anchored by the future Metra station on 135th Street.

But with plans also in the works for a downtown redevelopment along Route 53, officials are asking residents for their thoughts on how to improve connectivity to link the east and west sides of town.

The survey, available online and at , 1050 W. Romeo Road, is aimed at generating ideas for the redeveloping downtown and developing a transit-oriented district (TOD) in conjunction with the Metra station. Survey results will be used by the project steering committee to guide development concepts.
