Village Budget Talks Begin Tonight

The first 2011-2012 budget meeting is set for 6 p.m. tonight at village hall.

Village trustees will take another look the proposed 2011-2012 budget Wednesday night.

Mayor John Noak declined to discuss budget numbers prior to the meeting, but said thanks to long-range planning, the village will have a balanced budget this year—and likely for years to come.

“We did a lot of work last year preparing the community for the long run,” he said. “The reality is this is a very streamlined budget.”

In December, trustees got a budget preview, including a list of goals for the upcoming fiscal year, such a possible expansion of the parking lot, a villagewide street resurfacing project and more.

According to Noak, the board is slated to vote on the budget proposal at its April 20 meeting. A public hearing on the budget is tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m. April 12.
