Romeoville Patch Will Keep an Eye on the Polls

Voting starts at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Tomorrow, voters will head to the polls — but more than 4,500 Will County residents have already cast their ballots for the March 20 primary.

According to the Will County Clerk’s office, 4,006 residents voted early, in addition to 403 voters who cast in-person absentee ballots and 95 grace period voters, for a total of 4,504. Early voting ended March 15.

In Romeoville, just 56 people showed up to village hall to vote early. But Lona Jakaitis, assistant chief deputy for the Will County Clerk’s office, said there’s no way to tell if Romeoville voters were among the 7,797 people who mailed in absentee ballots.
