Reader Poll: What Do You Want to See Develop on the East Side?

Residents weighed in during a community forum last month; now Patch is asking everyone to tell us what they think.

It might be years down the road, but make no mistake, according to village officials — it’s coming.

Thanks in part to an $80,000 study grant from the Regional Transportation Authority, planning is well under way for the future East Side redevelopment. The East Side Plan is anchored by the future Metra station, set to be built south of the Citgo refinery on 135th Street near New Avenue.

Late last month, a small group of residents turned out to a to answer the question: What would you like to see develop on the East Side?
