Noak Named Top Mayor by Crime Commission
The Illinois Crime Commission cited John Noak's leadership and commitment to new initiatives.
Romeoville Mayor John Noak has been selected Mayor of the Year by the Illinois State Crime Commission.
Noak was cited for his leadership and “record in economic development, advances in transportation, planning, recreation and recent tax rebates,” according to a news release.
The crime commission commended Noak's new initiatives such as the police bike patrol, the senior commission seminars on fraud prevention, scholarships offered through the Youth Commission and the Romeoville Youth Police Academy.

Noak will be recognized in June 2013 at the “Salute to Those who Make a Difference” awards dinner.
Noak is up for reelection in April. Former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Steve “Mongo” McMichael has announced his intentions to run against Noak. McMichael has attended the last two village board meetings.
