New Members Join Village Commissions
Trustees OK appointments during Jan. 4 village board meeting.
Officials welcomed several new village commission members Wednesday night, including the wife of a former village trustee.
Ruth McCartan, wife of the late , is the newest member of the Senior Commission. The couple’s daughter, Pattie McCartan Holloway, also serves on a village commission as an associate member of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
“We’re very excited to have her,” Mayor John Noak said.

“I just hope I can do some good,” McCartan said, thanking Noak and the village board for inviting her to become a member of the commission.
The board also appointed the following commission members:

- Lourdes Aguirre, who left the Ethics Commission to become a member of the Police and Fire Commission
- Ray Rocha – Police and Fire Commission
- Allen Gerhardt – Ethics Commission
- John McDonough – Ethics Commission
Noak noted that there are still two open spots on the Senior Commission. Anyone interested in serving on the commission should contact Administrative Assistant Candice Roberts at 815-886-7200.
