McMichael Planning Community Forum of His Own

Romeoville Mayor John Noak and election challenger Steve "Mongo" McMichael have yet to debate face-to-face.

Former Chicago Bear Steve "Mongo" McMichael to this point has not engaged in recent campaign forums as he runs for the office of Romeoville mayor.

However, McMichael announced Wednesday he has organized his own community forum set for noon Saturday, March 30, at his restaurant Mongo McMichael's, 1101 N Independence Blvd.

McMichael said in a news release Wednesday the forum would end after every resident question was answered.

McMichael and incumbent village president John Noak have spent the last few weeks sparring over organizing a debate. Noak has challenged McMichael to meet face-to-face. McMichael has said such a forum would turn into a media circus.

Another Romeoville candidate forum is set for Thursday night at Lukancic Middle School. The event will begin at 7 p.m., and is being hosted by the Romeoville Chamber of Commerce.
