McAsey to Host Resume, Job Search Workshop in Romeoville

State rep partners with JJC to help job seekers.

State Rep. Emily McAsey, D-Lockport, is partnering with the Joliet Junior College (JJC) Plus 50 Workforce Center to host a Resume Writing and Job Search Workshop to help job seekers over 50 years old.  The event is free of charge is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Joliet Junior College, Romeoville Campus, Room 35, located at 1125 West Romeo Road, Romeoville.

“Finding a new job is always a challenge, but this is particularly true for older adults looking for employment after many years at the same company,” McAsey said. “The JJC Plus 50 Workforce Center staff help older residents overcome their unique employment challenges by showing them ways to highlight their skills to target the job they seek. Armed with the tools and knowledge to reenter the workforce, we can help these residents get back to work.”  

The trained professionals of the JJC Plus 50 Workforce Center will provide resume writing assistance, interview techniques and job search strategies to help older workers compete in today’s job market.  Attendees will learn how to make a strong, positive impression with prospective employers, giving them the best chance for success.
