Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar will run unopposed this April for his eighth term in office, according to the Bolingbrook Reporter.
No one filed to run against the mayor by the Dec. 26 deadline.
Someone could still file to run as a write-in candidate for the election. The deadline to do so is Feb. 7, according to the Reporter.
Village Clerk Carol Penning will also run unopposed for re-election. It will be Penning's seventh term in the position.
Three trustee positions will be on the April ballot. Those seats are currently held by Joseph Morelli, Michael Lawler and Sandra Swinkunas. Morelli and Lawler will run for re-election and will be joined by newcomers Maria Zarate and Tim Dombrow. Swinkunas is not seeking re-election, according to the Reporter.
Morelli, Lawler and Zarate are on the First Party slate. Dombrow is noted as an independent candidate.
Editor's note: This story previously left out Tim Dombrow, who is running for trustee. Patch regrets the error.
