Mayor Noak Looks for New Multi-Purpose Center to Bring Outsiders in to Romeoville

Village trustees sign off on five-year deal with firm to run 60,000 square-foot athletic center in Spartans Square shopping plaza, according to a report.

A firm has been selected to run the new 60,000 square-foot athletic and event center in Romeoville, according to a Chicago Tribune report.

Village trustees recently agreed on a five-year contract with Indoor Sports Management Group, LLC, of LaGrange that spells out revenue sharing and usage rights between the Village and the firm, according to the report.

"This is an excellent partnership," Romeoville Mayor John Noak stated in the report. "The key is to bring outside individuals to our community."

The Tribune said the center—located near Illinois 53 and Normantown Road—is the first new structure to be built in the Spartans' Square shopping plaza and will feature basketball courts, a large indoor open area, multipurpose space and several conference rooms.

The center is expected to open in 2014. To read the full Tribune report, click here.
