Deadline Nears to File Objections in JJC Trustee Election

Anyone wishing to file an objection regarding a candidate's filed petition in the Joliet Junior College trustee consolidated election must file on Wednesday, Dec. 22, or Thursday, Dec. 23, or between Jan. 3 through 5. The college is closed Dec. 24 – Jan. 2 for winter break.

All objections must be filed in the JJC Local Election Office, located in room J-2050, in the J-Building on the Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet.

This year, two terms are up for election, that of current trustees Jeff May and Mike O'Connell. O'Connell was appointed to fill the vacancy when former Trustee Dick Dystrup passed away in August 2009.

Trustee elections will be held on April 5, 2011. JJC is directly governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, all of whom are elected from within the district for at-large, staggered, six-year terms. A student representative, elected annually by the student body, is a non-voting member of the board.
