Candidates’ Forum Set for March 10

Chamber will host hopefuls in village, school board and library board elections.

April 5 is just around the corner—do you know who you’re voting for?

Romeoville residents can learn more about the candidates for village trustee, board of education and the during a candidates’ forum at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at .

The event is the second forum sponsored by the Romeoville Area Chamber of Commerce. The organization previously held a forum prior to the November 2010 election.

“So far, we have six confirmed candidates (attending),” said chamber President and CEO Bridget Domberg, who anticipated more candidates will sign on for the March 10 event.

Each candidate will get three minutes to give a prepared statement, Domberg said.

Event chairman Bob Kalnicky said residents can mingle with the candidates in the school cafeteria for 30 minutes before the forum gets under way at 6 p.m.

“We’re expecting a pretty good turnout as far as candidates,” Kalnicky said.

The event is free and open to the public.

“You just need to show up,” he said.

Four people, including two incumbents, are running for three spots on the , and Bernice Holloway is running unopposed for another term as village clerk.
