Board Slated to Vote on Boundary Agreement with Plainfield

Romeoville trustees will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Romeoville village of trustees have a full agenda on their hands for the Wednesday village board meeting. Here's a look at what's up for a vote:

  • Trustees will vote on a proposed boundary agreement with the village of Plainfield aimed at facilitating development and providing services in unincorporated areas between the two municipalities. Rapid development in unincorporated areas means a greater need for government, police, utility service and more, according to village documents.
  • The village will if trustees sign off on a resolution urging Gov. Pat Quinn to sign Senate Bill 83. The legislation would allow Romeoville, Bolingbrook, Lemont, Woodridge and Homer Glen to create the Northern Will County Joint Action Water Agency, which would seek to lower local water bills by taking over the Illinois American Water pipeline that runs through the communities.
  • A local church could be the first organization to take advantage of a new liquor ordinance amendment. St. Andrew the Apostle could receive the first Class P liquor license, which allows alcohol to be sold on premises owned by charitable, religious, fraternal, civic, patriotic or social organizations for special events like fundraisers and dances.
  • Trustees are also scheduled to vote an a contract with Sikich LLP to conduct the village’s annual audits for fiscal years 2011, 2012 and 2013, with an option for the village to extend the pact to 2014 and 2015.
  • The village is also poised to vote on several planning and zoning items, including an amendment to the planned unit development and special use permit for The Shops of Romeoville on Weber Road to allow an NTB auto shop to open in the development near the Kohl’s store. Also on the agenda is an amendment to the special use permit for the Spotless Express car wash in Lot 2 of the Normantown Center development on Normantown Road.
