A former bookkeeper pleaded guilty last week to stealing from a Romeoville church and preschool.

Deborah Suchomel, 51, of the 600 block of Superior Drive, pleaded guilty Friday to felony theft and faces four to 15 years in prison when she is sentenced on Aug. 25.

Suchomel was arrested in December 2013, accused of stealing more than $100,000 from Good Shepherd Church over a four-year period, according to a My Suburban Life report. A police investigation reportedly revealed that Suchomel had been writing checks to herself for cash.

Suchomel was the volunteer bookkeeper for the church's preschool, 25 Alexander Circle, and also served as secretary of the church council, according to Suburban Life. She served in the positions until April 2013, when the church received a notice from the IRS about taxes that were owed. When an investigation showed $24,000 missing from church funds, an outside auditor was hired and discovered $106,000 in missing money, according to police.

you try and come across as someone who knows all but you only know what you are being told except what you know first hand, like you are not closer to all this than you let on. it wont take much to find out who you are getting your information from. you will probably know about our meeting tomorrow within 30 minutes of it being over huh? lets see what happens

like I said beating a dead horse! Debbie is only guilty of what she did and not a thing more! I knew you had ulterior motives in all your postings it was all the anger you have from the pantry issue. so this is what is fueling your anger its amazing how if you go about something the right way they tend to go smoother but when you play underhanded you end up carrying baggage around with you. I am glad that you now have the pantry I do wish you success with it but please just try and be honest and don't play all these games I will request prayer for you because you really do need it take care of yourself god bless you!!
