Romeoville Police Blotter: Thief Steals Trailer Full of Meat

Feb. 22

Someone defaced a school-zone speed limit sight with black spray paint, causing $100 in damage, according to police.

Feb. 25

A resident in the 900 block of Princeton Avenue said an unknown person drove a vehicle through the home's front lawn, causing $20 in damage, according to police.

Feb. 26

A vandal used black spray paint to cause $50 in damage to the fence at a home in the 400 block of Murphy Drive, police said.

A would-be burglar attempted to break into a garage in the 400 block of Dalhart Avenue, police said. The thief caused $600 in damage to the garage door.

Feb. 27

Someone broke a window on a car parked in a driveway in the 700 block of Zachary and stole a GPS unit, according to police. Cost to replace the item and repair the window is estimated at $250.

Feb. 28

A shoplifter took 11 cans of baby formula, worth a total of $170.84, from a business in the 400 block of South Weber Road, police said.

A customer at a business in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive reported that a camera, tools, DVD player and GPS unit were stolen from a vehicle left unlocked and unattended in the parking lot. Total value of the items is $2,000, police said.

Someone stole a semi-trailer containing various cuts of meat from a business parking area in the 100 block of Anton Drive, police said. The estimated cost of the trailer is $30,000. Police said the value of the meat is unknown. 

A vandal used a sharp object to slash a tire on a customer's vehicle at a business in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive, police said. Estimated cost to repair the tire is $500.
