Romeoville Police Blotter: Teens Charged with Burglary; Woman Accused of Assault, Drug Possession

Arrests reported by Romeoville police, other agencies, March 3-23.

March 3

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested by Romeoville police at 11 p.m. in the 100 block of South Highpoint Drive and charged with delivery of cannabis and possession of cannabis and paraphernalia, police said.

Several juveniles were arrested by Romeoville police at 10:26 a.m. in the 700 block of Geneva Avenue and charged with residential burglary and defacing identification materials, police said.

Abigail Gomez, 18, of the 300 block of Fourth Avenue, Joliet, and Janeth Banda, 24, of the 400 block of Raynor Avenue, Joliet, were arrested by Romeoville police at 9:54 p.m. in the 400 block of South Weber Road and charged with retail theft.

Robert Garrey, 51, of the 21000 block of West Taylor Road, Plainfield, was arrested by Romeoville police at 6:30 a.m. at Taylor Road and Wesglen Parkway and charged with hit and run, improper lane use and illegal transportation of alcohol, police said.

March 11

Latorra Lyons, 27, of the 1300 block of Highpoint Drive, Romeoville, was arrested by Romeoville police at 8:19 p.m. at Taylor Road and Belmont Drive and charged with speeding, driving on a suspended license and no insurance, and failure to secure a child, police said.

March 12

Amtul Mirza, 40, of the 100 block of Gorman Drive, Romeoville, was arrested by Romeoville police at 3:31 p.m. in the 200 block of South Weber Road and charged with retail theft, police said.

March 14

Cordell Hines, 29, of the 900 block of Willow Lane, Shorewood, was arrested by Romeoville police at 8:07 a.m. at Weber and Normantown roads and charged with driving on a suspended license and equipment violation, police said. Hines was also arrested on an in-state warrant.

March 23

Jessica M. Islas, 20, of the 600 block of South Midland Avenue, Rockdale, was arrested by Romeoville police and booked into the Will County jail on charges of battery, possession of a controlled substance, possession of 2.5-10 grams of cannabis and obstructing an officer, police said. 

Denise M. Montejano, 47, of the 3700 block of Princess Place, Racine, Wisconsin, was arrested by Romeoville police and booked into the Will County jail on charges of aggravated assault and retail theft over $300, police said.
