Romeoville Police Blotter: Stolen Vehicle, Car Burglaries, Shoplifted Laptops

Feb. 6

Business burglary

A business in the 400 block of New Avenue reported the theft of an air conditioner, propane storage cage and 20 propane cylinders, worth an estimated total of $2,500, according to Romeoville police.

A business in the 100 block of Anton Drive reported a burglary after the seal was broken on the back of several trailers that were parked in the parking lot. Numerous items were taken from the trailers, according to police, and the estimated value of the items is not known.

Feb. 18

Vandal smashes window on Rock Road

A customer at a business in the 0-100 block of Rock Road reported criminal damage to property after someone damaged the windshield of a vehicle in the parking lot, police said. Estimated cost to repair the window is $1,000.

Tire-slasher strikes

Someone used a knife or cutting tool to damage two tires on a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 600 block of Jordan Avenue, causing $450 in damage, according to police.

Stolen iPhone

A thief stole an iPhone worth $600 after a customer left it on a bench at a business in the 1300 block of Naperville Drive, according to police.

Thief nabs a/c unit

Someone stole an outside air conditioning unit worth an estimated $1,500 from an unoccupied residence in the 1600 block of William Drive, police said.

Feb. 19

Smashed window, car burglary

An employee at a business in the 500 block of Anderson Drive reported that someone smashed the driver's side window of a vehicle parked in the business parking area. A portable speaker was also stolen, police said. Estimated cost of repairs plus the missing speaker is $389, according to police.

Feb. 20

Tools stolen during vehicle burglary

A thief entered an unlocked and unattended car parked at a business in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive and stole several tools worth a total of $3,800, police said.

Feb. 21

Stolen laptops

Someone stole several laptops from a business in the 400 block of South Weber Road, police said. The laptops, which were on a display counter, were worth a total of $1,148.

Traffic sign graffiti

Someone used permanent marker to deface a traffic sign in the area of Belmont and Montrose drives, according to police.

Feb. 23

Stolen vehicle

A car thief made off with a vehicle parked in front of a home in the 1700 block of William Drive, police said, adding the estimated value of the vehicle was $900.
