Romeoville Police Blotter: Cars, Home Burglarized

Incidents reported by Romeoville police, May 9-20.

May 9

An employee at a business in the 1200 block of Naperville Drive reported a burglary in which two laptops and two digital cameras, worth a total of $1,600, were stolen, police said.

May 16

Someone stole a backpack worth $20 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 1900 block of Tuscany Lane, according to police.

A water heater, furnace and copper piping worth more than $7,000 were stolen from a home in the 200 block of McKool, police said.

A burglar stole money, sports equipment and a chair from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 400 block of Susan, police said. Estimated value of the items is $310.

A radio was stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 1900 block of Tuscany Lane, police said.

May 17

A postal employee reported that a mailbox and retaining wall were defaced with spray paint in the 100 block of Cedarbend, police said.


A resident in the 400 block of Hamrick reported the theft of various lawn tools that had been kept outside the home, according to police.

May 19

Someone smashed the front and rear passenger windows of a vehicle parked in the driveway at a home in the 200 block of Summerfield, police said. Estimated cost to repair the windows is $500.

May 20

A thief stole a bicycle from an open garage in the 0-100 block of Freesia Drive, police said.

A shoplifter stole a cell phone valued at $119.88 from a store in the 400 block of Weber Road, police said.
