Romeoville Police Blotter: Arsonist Sets Car on Fire; Burglars Strike

Incidents reported by Romeoville police, June 17-26.

June 17


A resident in the 300 block of Amaryllis Court reported an attempted residential burglary. Police said a screen was torn and an object from the patio was used in an attempt to break the sliding patio door. 

June 19


Someone damaged the garage entrance at a home in the 200 block of Violet and gained entrance to the house. Nothing was taken, police said.

A burglar or burglars entered an unlocked garage in the 0-100 block of Harmony Lane and stole a backpack and its contents, including an iPod and microphone, from an unlocked vehicle. Estimated value of the items is $730, police said.

June 20


Someone stole two solar lanterns and damaged a third in the 600 block of Coneflower, police said.

June 22


Someone stole a bicycle from outside of a business in the 200 block of Dalhart Avenue, according to police. The bicycle's estimated value is $185.

June 24


An unknown person set a vehicle on fire in the 400 block of Garland, police said. Estimated value of the vehicle is $8,000.

June 25


A burglar stole several boxes of laminate flooring in the 300 block of Richmond Drive, according to police. Estimated value of the flooring is $816.

June 26


Someone broke the window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Mountain Laurel Court and stole $65 from the center console. Estimated damage to the vehicle is $250, police said.
