Romeoville Man Faces Child Porn Charges

Systems analyst Jason C. Horton, 33, was arrested at his home Wednesday, police said.

A Romeville man faces five counts of aggravated child pornography charges after a two-month investigation involving the FBI, Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, and state and local police.

Jason C. Horton, 33, of 1613 Ashbury Lane, was arrested at his home Wednesday by acting on behalf of the State’s Attorney’s office.

Assistant Police Chief Steven Lucchesi said Romeoville police assisted with executing a search warrant at Horton’s home. During the search, three computers were seized by investigators, according to a press release issued by the State’s Attorney’s Office.

Booking records list Horton’s occupation as systems analyst.

According to a press release, Horton’s arrest came after a two-month probe by the State’s Attorney’s High Technology Crimes Unit, the Illinois Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the FBI’s Innocent Images Task Force Chicago, the Romeoville Police Department and the Naperville Police Department’s High Technology Crimes Unit.

All five aggravated child pornography charges are Class 2 felonies carrying a penalty of up to seven years in prison upon conviction.

Horton appeared in court Thursday, when his bond was set at $400,000. He remains in custody at the Will County jail in lieu of 10 percent, or $40,000, bail.

His next scheduled court appearance is an arraignment set for April 4, according to the State’s Attorney’s Office.
