Romeoville Man Charged in Tobacco Store Break-In

James Leo, 36, arrested; second suspect remains at large.

A Romeoville man was in jail Tuesday and police were seeking a second suspect after a burglar alarm foiled a robbery at a local tobacco store.

James Leo, 36, 32 Arlington Drive, has been charged with burglary following the early morning break-in at Tobacco Discount, 617 Access Drive in the Spartans' Square.

Assistant Police Chief Steven Lucchesi said officers responded to a burglar alarm at 2:56 a.m. Monday, arriving to find two windows shattered at the discount tobacco shop and two suspects fleeing on foot.

Nothing appears to have been stolen during the attempted burglary, Lucchesi said.

“At this point in time, the shop owner is unable to find anything that’s missing,” he added.
