Romeoville Man Attacks Officers in Bolingbrook: Police Report

A mother-daughter domestic disturbance escalates when a third party arrives on the scene and ignores police orders to stand down, Bolingbrook Lt. Mike Rompa said.

A call for help defusing a mother-daughter domestic disturbance turned uglier than it already was when a third party arrived and attacked two police officers during an incident Tuesday on the 700 block of Bolingbrook's Feathersound Drive, Lt. Mike Rompa said.

Julio R. Guzman, 18, of 235 Murphy Drive, Romeoville, was arrested by Bolingbrook police after officers gained control of the situation, Rompa said. Guzman was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer (2 counts)—both felonies—and resisting arrest, Rompa said.

"Bolingbrook officers were called to (Feathersound Drive) for a mother-and-daughter domestic disturbance," Rompa said. "Guzman arrived after the officers. He became combative towards officers, refusing their orders to not interfere. Guzman then physically fought with officers."

Rompa said Guzman eventually was taken into custody, processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. He was awaiting an appearance in bond court on Wednesday.
