Police Thwart Late-Night Burglary

Four men were arrested Wednesday after allegedly trying to steal copper wire from a Romeoville business.

Romeoville police arrested four men early Wednesday after an officer discovered suspicious activity at a local business.

Assistant Chief Steven Lucchesi said an officer noticed something was amiss after driving past , a precast concrete floor and roof manufacturer, around 11:55 p.m. Tuesday.

“An officer was driving by and saw a gate leading to the property was wide open,” Lucchesi said. After seeing that a door to the business was also open, the officer called for back-up, and police set up a perimeter around the building.
