Police Blotter: Man Accused of Reckless Driving, Drug Possession

Jan. 25

Man booked for theft

Juan Maya-Cerrillo, 21, of the 600 block of Jefferson, Joliet, was arrested at 4:46 p.m. in the 400 block of Weber and charged with retail theft, Romeoville police said.

Jan. 26

Reckless driving, drug possession

Christopher Koltas, 19, of the 1000 block of Redondo, Romeoville, was arrested at 7:47 p.m. at 135th Street and Claire and charged with reckless driving, aggravated speeding, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Jan. 27

Man charged with DUI

Oscar Flores, 25, of the 200 block of Malibu, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. at Route 53 and Romeo Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and failure to change address, according to police.

No license, no registration

Kierra Jones, 22, of the 500 block of Gardner, Joliet, was arrested at 8:27 a.m. at Weber and Taylor roads and charged with driving without a license and having expired registration and no insurance, police said.

Theft arrest

Roger Thompson, 51, of the 14000 block of Monticello Circle, Plaifield, was arrested at 12:43 p.m. in the 400 block of Weber and charged with retail theft, according to a police report.

Jan. 28

Speeding, drug possession

Julian Colon, 19, of the 131 block of Ferndale, Romeoville, was arrested at 10:26 p.m. at Romeo Road and Frieh Drive and charged with speeding, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Traffic arrest

Bobby Medoza, 21, of the 800 block of Madison, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 12:17 am. in the 1000 block of Romeo Road and charged with driving on a suspended license, speeding, failure to change address and failure to reduce speed for an emergency vehicle, police said.

Jan. 29

Man booked on DUI charge

Ryan Cleghorn, 27, of the 1800 block of Silver Rock Drive, Crest Hill, was arrested at 3:07 a.m. at Belmont and Route 53 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and improper lane use, according to police.

Jan. 30

Theft charge

Noel DeQuiroz, 42, of the 1600 block of Ashbury, Romeoville, was arrested at 7:08 p.m. in the 400 block of Weber Road and charged with retail theft, police said.

Really I wish R.P.D. would bust the heroin and cocaine dealers in the ville!!! That is what's killing our kids..... not that I'm condonning weed. But come on..... that heroin is killing young and older people..

I wish they would step up the patrolling and issue more citations. This would surely lead to more drug arrests, dui's, and safer streets. Instead of trying to keep the community on their side and not upset the residents, the police should develop a reputation of being enforcers. Maybe people would then think twice about running a stop sign, red light, dui, speeding, or driving w/o insurance in Romeoville. It all starts with traffic enforcement. An officer could earn his pay alone just by sitting at Airport and Weber at 8am and ticketing speeders and red light runners. And this blotter would be three times as long.
