Police Blotter: Wallets, GPS Units, Cash, Bicycles, Other Items Reported Stolen

Romeoville Police took reports on a dozen and a half recent vehicle, garage and yard thefts.

The following property crimes were reported to the :

  • A backpack and its contents, valued at $670, were reported stolen at about 4:40 p.m. July 20 by a customer at a business in the 1200 block of Lakeside Drive. The backpack had been left unattended on a bench.
  • A ring and sunglasses were reported stolen at about 12:05 p.m. July 22 from an unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway of a house in the 700 block of Farragut Avenue. A bicycle in the front yard was also taken. The total value of the loss was estimated at $405.
  • Sugar was poured into the gas tank of a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 300 block of Reston. The incident was reported at about 1 p.m. July 24; the damage was estimated at $400.
  • Several vending machines, valued at $6,000, were reported stolen at about 9:50 a.m. July 25 from a garage of a residence in the 1700 block of Autumn Woods.
  • A $450 bicycle was reported stolen at about 6 p.m. July 25 from a home in the 300 block of Shenandoah. It had been left unattended.
  • A wallet and MP3 player, valued at a total of $650, were reported stolen at about 2:30 a.m. July 26 from a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Arbor Drive. The window has been broken.
  • A stereo faceplate, valued at $40, was reported stolen at about 6:30 p.m. July 26 from a vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 300 block of Shenandoah.
  • Items of unknown value were reported stolen at about 8:30 p.m. July 26 from a vehicle park in the driveway of a residence in the 1600 block of Richfield Trail.
  • A GPS unit, valued at $45, was reported stolen at about 7:50 p.m. July 27 from a vehicle park in the driveway of the 300 block of Hale.
  • Several items were stolen from a vehicle that was spray-painted while it was parked in the 1200 block of Naperville Road. The report was fielded at 1:25 a.m. July 27; the value of the damage and loss was estimated at $525.
  • Several packages, valued at $112 and delivered by UPS and FedEx, were reported stolen at about 3:30 p.m. July 19 from a residence in the 600 block of Driftwood.
  • A $300 bicycle was reported stolen at about 5:45 p.m. July 20 from an open garage at a residence in the 200 block of Healy.
  • A stereo with navigation system, valued at $900, was reported stolen at about 6:10 a.m. July 20 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 300 block of Rose Lane.
  • A $300 bicycle was reported stolen at about 8 a.m. July 21 from the rear of an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway in the 700 block of Farragut.
  • Keys, wallets and cash were taken from vehicles parked in the 300 and 400 blocks of Arlington. The thefts were reported between 5:45 and 6:05 a.m. July 21. The estimated loss was not reported.
  • A $5,000 trailer was reported stolen at about 3:05 p.m. July 23 from the 1000 block of Schmidt Road.
  • Keys and a wallet, valued at $145, were reported stolen at about 3:30 a.m. July 24, from an unlocked vehicle parked in a residential driveway in the 600 block of Driftwood Avenue.
  • A power washer and painter, valued at $2,400, were reported stolen at about 1:30 p.m. July 24 from an unlocked residential garage in the 200 200 block of Robbin Drive.
