Police Blotter: Thieves Steal Water, A/C Unit

Incidents reported by Romeoville Police Department, March 29-April 5.

Tuesday, April 5

Business burglarized

A thief forced open a metal gate and burglarized a business in the 100 block of Devon, police said. While police believe nothing was taken, $50 in damage was done to the gate.

House spray-painted

A vandal spray-painted the siding of a residence in the 200 block of Summerfield, police said, causing $100 in damage.

April 1

Climate control caper

A furnace/air conditioner stored in a garage in the 200 block of Hickory, was stolen, police said. Value of the unit is estimated at $700. 

March 31

Water stolen

A thief stole a dolly, storage bins and camera from a business in the 0-100 block of Belmont. The thief or thieves also tapped into the water line and used a large amount of water, running up a steep water bill for the business, police said. Value of the items stolen plus the water bill is estimated at $800.

March 30

Property damage

Black paint was used to deface the siding of a residence in the 200 block of Richmond, police said, causing $300 in damage.

March 29

Stolen Bears helmet

A Chicago Bears football helmet was stolen after being delivered via UPS to a home in the 800 block of Oakton. The $145 helmet was left at the front door while the homeowner was out, police said.
