Police Blotter: String of Car Burglaries, Vandalism Reported

Aug. 27
1. Thief burglarizes unlocked car
Someone stole a GPS and a wallet from an unlocked car parked in a public lot in the 1500 block of Normantown Road, police said. Estimated value of the items taken is $250.

2. Car window smashed
A vandal used a blunt object to break the rear window of a vehicle parked on the street in front of a home in the 1500 block of Baytree, according to police. Estimated repair cost is $450.

3. Car window shot out
Someone used a pellet gun to damage the side window of a vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 100 block of Gorman, according to police. Estimated repair cost is $200.
4. Another car vandalized
Someone used a key to scratch the trunk lid of a car parked in an employee area at a business in the 1100 block of Crossroads Parkway, causing $200 in damage, police said.
5. Window broken
The front side window of a car parked in the 300 block of Daisy Circle was damaged with a blunt object, police said.

6. Car tires slashed
Someone used a sharp object to slash two tires and a rear door of a van parked in the driveway of a home in the 300 block of Hemlock, causing $350 in damage, police said.

7. Home burglarized
A burglar stole two iPods, a digital camera, a ring and necklace, all valued at an estimated $1,250, from a home in the 300 block of Aster Court, according to police.

8, 9. Cars burglarized; nothing taken
Someone entered two unlocked car parked in the 2000 block of Wheatfield and scattered various items about the vehicle but did not taken anything, police said.
Sept. 1
10. Customer reports stolen iPad
A patron at a business in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive reported that an iPad valued at $729 was removed from a bag placed in a locker, police said.
Sept. 2
11. Radio stolen from car
A thief damaged a passenger-side window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of South Wynbrooke and took a Sony radio. Estimated cost to repair the damage and replace the radio is $265, police said.
Sept. 4
12. Shoplifter nabs a bottle of tequila
Someone stole a bottle of tequila valued at $21.99 from a business in the 400 block of North Weber, police said.
