Incidents reported by Romeoville Police Department, May 5-13

FRIDAY, May 13

Cars burglarized

  • A thief smashed the driver’s side window of a car parked in a public area in the 200 block of Highpoint and stole the steering wheel airbag, police said. Estimated cost of the damage to the vehicle is $815.
  • A jacket, CD player/radio and speaker boxes, worth a total of $825, were stolen from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence in the 1800 block of Lakeshore Court, police said.

A resident in the 200 block of Key Largo discovered a damaged window screen after a burglar attempted to enter the locked residence, according to police. Cost to repair the damaged screen is estimated at $225.

A burglar stole a mini-chopper-style motorcycle left in the garage of a residence in the 300 block of Homer, according to a police report. Estimated cost of the motorcycle is $1,200.
