Police Blotter: Obstruction, DUI and Retail Theft

Jan. 7
DUI arrests
Tomas Gaidamavicius, 48, of the 7000 block of Barclay Road, Darien, was arrested by at 11:14 p.m. in the 800 block of Old Romeo Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said.

Jennifer Powell, 33, of the 1300 block of North Hickory, Joliet, was arrested at 1:47 a.m. at Route 53 and Rock Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving an uninsured car, improper lighting and driving with an expired registration, according to police.

Retail theft
Madina Placzek, 50, of the 20000 block of Catalpa, Crest Hill, was arrested at 3:50 p.m. in the 400 block of Weber Road and charged with retail theft, police said.
Jan. 14
Obstruction charge
Rishawn House, 28, of the 1014 block of Callaway Drive, Shorewood, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. at Center Boulevard and Normantown Road and charged with obstructing justice, driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured vehicle and failure to wear a seat belt, according to police.
Jan. 15
Theft charge
Juan Valentin-Latorre, 35, of the 13000 block of Petersburg Drive, Plainfield, was arrested at 11:08 a.m. in the 400 block of Weber Road and charged with retail theft, police said.
