Police Blotter: No Tolerance for Teens, Marijuana Arrests and Retail Theft

Arrests reported by Romeoville police, March 10-April 2.

March 10

Woman charged with theft

Nancy Penaloza, 23, of the 2500 block of Burr Oak Lane, Naperville, was arrested by at 5:01 p.m. in the 300 block of South Weber and charged with retail theft, police said.

Hector Santacruz, 18, of the 22000 block of West Plymouth Court, Plainfield, was arrested at 9:20 p.m. at Weber and Normantown roads and charged with illegal consumption, possession and transportion of alcohol under Illinois "zero tolerance" laws.

Angel Gaytan, 19, of the 500 block of Briggs Street in Joliet, was also arrested and charged with illegal consumption and possession of alcohol, police said.

March 26 

Third man charged with scrap metal theft

Abraham Cruz, 21, of the 2100 block of North Spaulding, Chicago, was arrested at 1:12 a.m. in the 800 block of Schmidt Road and charged with theft over $500 and criminal trespassing. Cruz was , police said. According to police, Cruz was arrested after being treated for injuries he sustained during the theft.

March 28

Disorderly conduct

Ashley Sullivan, 18, of the 25000 block of Pastoral Drive, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 8:52 p.m. in the 1000 block of Grand Boulevard and charged with disorderly conduct, police said.

Several juveniles were also arrested on the same block: A 17-year-old was charged with disorderly conduct; two 17-year-olds were charged with possession of cannabis and drug equipment; a 17-year-old was charged with possession of cannabis; and a 16-year-old was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment.

March 29

Drug equpiment

A day after the Grand Boulevard arrests, police said another 17-year-old was arrested for possession of drug equipment and cannabis at 2:44 p.m. at Maggie Lane and Grand Boulevard.

March 30

Warrant arrest

David Page, 42, of the 500 block of Sundance, Bolingbrook, was arrested at 3:27 p.m. at Dalhart and Corona and charged with speeding and arrested on an in-state warrant, police said.

Retail theft charge

Jason Betancourt, 34, of the 12000 block of Greenwood Place, Blue Island, was arrested at 9:16 p.m. in the 0-100 block of South Weber Road and charged with retail theft, police said.

April 2

Retail theft arrest

Clarion Wilkins, 22, of the 1400 block of Brentwood Place, Joliet, was arrested at 2:53 p.m. in the 400 block of South Weber and charged with retail theft, police said.
