Police Blotter: Man Charged with Manufacture, Delivery of Heroin

Arrests reported by Romeoville Police Department and other agencies, May 27-June 8

Wednesday, June 8

Manufacture/delivery of heroin

Jason R. Marquez, 23, 128 Fairfield Drive, Romeoville, was arrested by Joliet police and charged with manufacture and delivery of heroin, according to Will County Sheriff’s Office records.

Traffic violations

Linda Holota, 27, 618 Cedar Court, Romeoville, was arrested by the Will County Sheriff’s Office and charged with driving on a revoked or suspended license and a headlight violation, according to police reports.

Tuesday, June 7

Copper wire theft

A business in the first block of Forestwood reported the theft of several spools of copper wire that were stored in a fenced area behind the business. The estimated cost of the spools of wire is $2,650.

Monday, June 6

Criminal defacement of property

A resident in the 200 block of Malibu Drive reported spray paint was used to damage a wooden fence on the west side of the residence. The estimated cost to remove or repair the damage is $50.

Saturday, June 4

Traffic violations

Jesse Ramos, 18, 409 Tallman, Romeoville, was arrested at Route 53 and Taylor Road and charged with failure to reduce speed, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license, Romeoville police reported.

Thursday, June 2 

Battery

Christopher Yeoman, 39, 522 Ledochowski St., Lemont, was charged with battery at Romeo Road and Route 53, according to police.

Traffic violations

  • Alfonso Mendez, 32, 318 Fairfax Ave., Romeoville, was charged with speeding, no valid driver’s license and driving an uninsured motor vehicle at Route 53 and 135th St., police said.
  • Manuel Garcia De Lara, 25, 4709 River Drive, Lisle, was charged with no valid driver’s license and failure to yield at Weber and Normantown roads, according to police reports.
  • Jorge Olarte, 20, 1488 Windflower Court, Romeoville, was charged with driving while his license is suspended and driving an uninsured motor vehicle at Weslake and Canterbury Trail, police said.
Wednesday, June 1

Battery/criminal damage

Jemetrius Tilson, 19, 139 Foxglove Court, Romeoville, was charged with battery, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct in the 200 block of Highpoint Drive, according to police.

Traffic violations

  • A juvenile was arrested at Normantown and Geneva and charged with speeding, uninsured motor vehicle and no valid driver’s license, police said.
  • Maria Bahena, 49, of 410 Melissa Circle, was arrested and charged with no valid driver’s license, uninsured motor vehicle and failure to yield at Richfield Trail and Airport Road, according to police.

DUI

Jose Valencia, 18, 331 Homer, Romeoville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, uninsured motor vehicle and unsafe opening of doors at Macon and Arnold Avenue, police reported.

Criminal damage to property

A resident in the 400 block of Arnold reported a sharp object was used to damage a tire of a vehicle that was parked in the front of the residence. Estimated cost to repair the tire is $250. 

Burglary from a motor vehicle

A resident in the 100 block of Highpoint Drive reported a GPS unit and assorted DVDs were taken from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in a public parking area. Estimated cost of the items taken is $250.

Tuesday, May 31

DUI

Kimberly Glista, 35, 600 Avalon, Romeoville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, driving too fast for conditions and failure to wear a seat belt in the 500 block of Independence Boulevard, police said.

Monday, May 30

Traffic violations

Omar Tufino-Ruiz, 32, 14106 Mount Pleasant, Plainfield, was charged with an equipment violation and no valid driver’s license a Normantown and Weber roads, according to police reports.

Saturday, May 28

DUI

Rogelio Mariano, 41, 775 Honeytree Drive, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and failure to reduce speed in the 700 block of Honeytree Drive, police said.

Friday, May 27

Burglary

The owners of a residence in the 400 block of Claire Avenue reported an intruder entered the unoccupied residence and removed 50 feet of copper water pipe. Estimated cost of the pipe is $250.
