Police Blotter: Homes Burglarized in Smash-and-Grabs

Nov. 5

1. Smashed car windows

Someone threw rocks at a car parked on the street in front of a home in the 400 block of Macon, breaking the windshield and rear window and causing $245 in damage, police said.

2. Trespasser steals table, firewood

A thief entered the backyard of a home in the 300 block of Hemlock and stole a cast-iron table and chair set and a pallet of firewood, police said. The items are worth an estimated $500.

Nov. 9

3. Burglar steals tools from parked car

Someone smashed the rear window of a car parked at a business in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive and stole several tools, according to police. Estimated cost to repair the window plus the value of the tools is estimated at $1,600.

4. Residential burglary

A burglar damaged the door to a home in the 200 block of Highpoint and stole several electronic appliances, games and clothing items, worth an estimated total of $4,500, police said.

5. Stereo nabbed from unlocked car

A thief took advantage of an unlocked car, stealing a touch-screen stereo worth $1,000 from the vehicle, parked in the 200 block of Hickory, according to police.

6. Broken window at business

Someone used an unknown object to shatter a window at a business in the 600 block of Dalhart, causing $350 in damage, police said.

Nov. 15

7. Glass door broken in burglary

Police said a glass door was damaged and a television was stolen from a home in the 1600 block of William Drive. Estimated cost to repair the door and the cost of the television total $550, according to police.
