Police Blotter: Defacement of Property in Park, Bicycles Swiped on Highpoint Drive

Police report criminal damage to property in 600 block of Montrose.

The following incidents were reported by the Romeoville Police Department:

Sept. 21: A criminal defacement of property was reported in the area of Gleagle and Grass Knoll. Unknown person(s) used spray paint to damage playground equipment in the park. Estimated cost to remove the damage is $100. Time: 10:30 a.m.

Sept. 21: A theft under $500 was reported in the 200 block of Highpoint Drive. Unknown person(s) took two unsecured bicycles from the common area at the location. Estimated cost of the bicycles is $180. Time: 10:09 p.m.

Sept. 23: A burglary to motor vehicle was reported in the 300 block of Hale. Unknown person(s) took several CDs, a radar detector and sunglasses from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the residence. Estimated cost of the items is $575. Time: 8:10 p.m.

Sept. 25: A theft under $500 was reported in the 200 block of Highpoint Drive. Unknown person(s) took an unsecured bicycle from the front porch of the residence. Estimated cost of the bicycle is $100. Time: 3:02 p.m.

Sept. 26: A criminal damage to property was reported in the 600 block of Montrose. Unknown person(s) sprayed an unknown substance on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Estimated cost to remove the substance is $100. Time: 5:49 p.m.

Sept. 26: A theft under $500 was reported in the 600 block of North Independence. Bicycle accessories were taken by unknown person(s) while the bike was chained to a tree. Estimated cost of the parts is $75. Time: 7:59 p.m.

Sept. 27: A retail theft was reported in the 400 block of South Weber. An unknown person took two twelve packs of alcohol from the store. Cost of the items taken is $23.11. Time: 11:39 p.m.

Sept. 29: A criminal damage to property was reported in the 500 block of Belmont. Unknown person(s) broke the rear window of vehicle that was parked in the street. Estimated cost to repair the damage is $250. Time: 8:03 a.m.

Sept. 30: A burglary to motor vehicle was reported in the 300 block of East Daisy Circle. A handicapped placard was taken by unknown person(s) from a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a residence. Estimated cost of the placard is $50. Time: 1:12 p.m.
