Police Blotter: Cell Phones, Bikes Prove Popular to Thieves

Stolen debit card leads to charges
A patron at a business in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive said someone stole an HTC Inspire cell phone, a hat and a debit card that was used to make $135 in unauthorized purchases. Estimated cost of the charges and items stolen is $700, police said.

Stolen bikes
A thief or thieves nabbed two BMX-style bicycles from a business in the 0-100 block of Weber, police said. Each bike is worth an estimated $150.

Property damage
A vandal smashed the driver’s side window of a van parked in front of a home in the 1000 block of San Mateo Drive, causing $150 in damage, police said.
Wallet, cash stolen
A customer said a wallet containing $35 in cash was stolen from a business in the 700 block of North Center, police said. Estimated cost of to replace the wallet and its contents is $55.
More stolen phones
- Someone stole a wallet containing $150 in cash, several credit cards and an HTC cell phone at a business in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive, police said. Estimated value of all the items taken is $473.
- An HTC cell phone worth $300 was stolen from the break room at a business in the 1700 block of Normantown Road, police said.
Bicycle bandit
A $175 Tony Hawk bicycle left unattended in front of a home in the 700 block of Hillcrest was stolen, according to police.
May 19Electronics stolen from car
Someone stole a PlayStation 3, PlayStation Move, several games, a touchscreen car radio/DVD, Touchsmart computer, 1,200-watt amplifier and TV/DVD combination, worth a total of $3,875, were stolen from a motor vehicle parked in the 700 block of North Sleepy Hollow, according to police.
Car vandalized
A vandal used a sharp object to scratch the door, two quarter panels and the hood of a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of Lakeview Drive, causing $100 in damage, police said.
May 16Retail theft
Several clothing items, worth a total of $566.93, were stolen from a store in the 200 block of South Weber Road, according to a police report.
Home burglarized
A burglar made off with speakers, a DJ system and a drum set, worth a total of $2,250, from a home in the 700 block of Geneva, police said.
May 14Stolen appliances
An intruder stole a microwave, washer and dryer from a house in the 400 block of Anna Lane, police said. The value of the items is estimated at $1,150.
May 13Cash, credit cards stolen
A patron reported the theft of a wallet containing $40 in cash and several credit cards from a business in the 1200 block of Lakeview Drive, according to police.
