Police Blotter: Car Burglaries, Stolen Jewelry
Arrests, incidents reported by Romeoville Police Department, Feb. 20-28.
MONDAY, Feb. 28
Stolen jewelry
A thief stole several pieces of jewelry valued at $7,000 from a home in the 0-100 block of Bristol, police said.
FRIDAY, Feb. 25Property damage
- A vandal used a blunt object to damage a windshield, window and the paint of a vehicle parked near a business in the 800 block of Bluff Road, police said. Estimated cost to repair the damage is $200.
- Someone used an unknown object to break a rear window at a residence in the 1400 block of Coreopsis, police said. Estimated cost to repair the window is $300.
Vehicle burglaries
- A car stereo was stolen from a vehicle parked in the lot at a business in the 1800 block of Normantown Road, according to police reports. Estimated cost to replace the stereo and repair the damage is $500.
- A thief shattered the windows of two trucks parked in the 0-100 block of Rock Road, stealing a CB radio, antenna and several other items from one of the vehicles. Another CB radio and antenna, along with a Bluetooth, were taken from the second truck, police said.
Warrant arrest
Rafael Garcia, 26, 315B Woodcreek, Bolingbrook, was arrested at Weber Road and Lakewood Falls Drive and booked on a DuPage County warrant, according to police reports. Garcia was also charged with driving without a valid license and failure to reduce speed.

DUI charge
Federico Aguinaga, 45, 2059 W. 21st Place, Chicago, was arrested at Windham Parkway and Weber Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and violating a traffic signal, police said.
Feb. 20Marijuana arrest
Kayla Rybicki, 18, 452 Montrose Drive, Romeoville, was arrested at Hudson and Hillcrest and charged with marijuana possession, driving without a license, no insurance and failing to wear a seat belt.
