Missing Romeoville Woman Located; No Foul Play Suspected: Police

Martha Ramirez was reported missing Oct. 16.

A Romeoville woman reported missing nearly a month ago was located this week and is safe, Romeoville police said.

Martha I. Ramirez, 37, was reported missing by her family on Oct. 16. Romeoville Deputy Chief Steven Lucchesi said she was located in Hazel Crest on Tuesday and is believed to have left Romeoville voluntarily.

"She voluntarily left," Lucchesi said. "There was no foul play involved."

Lucchesi said Ramirez went to the Hazel Crest police station on Nov. 12. Romeoville officers spoke to her there, and later at an area hospital where she was seeking treatment.

Lucchesi declined to say why she was seeking medical treatment, or to release details on the circumstances behind her disappearance.

"We are still investigating the case," he said. "It's an active case, we can't release that information."
