Man Could Face Five Years in Obstruction Case

Report: Parole violation could mean longer sentence for Kenneth Bitto.

A Romeoville resident who pleaded guilty in March to hindering a police investigation into the death of a Mount Prospect man could receive a longer sentence after violating his probation, according to a Triblocal report.

Kenneth M. Bitto, 48, of the 700 block of Dexter Avenue, was originally sentenced to two years after admitting to lying to police about the drug overdose death of Lawrence Pinkard, 34.

Police said Pinkard was found unresponsive near Bitto’s home on Sept. 4, 2010. Bitto and another man, Randy Loader, 30, also of Romeoville, were charged with obstruction after providing false information about Pinkard’s death, according to Romeoville Assistant Chief Steven Lucchesi.

Bitto, who was Jan. 15, after violating his parole.

According to the Triblocal report, he admitted Aug. 4 to the parole violation and was released on $2,500. He could be resentenced to up to five years in prison when he returns to court Oct. 12.

Loader, , pleaded guilty last month to two counts of obstructing justice, Triblocal reports, and was sentenced to two years in prison.
