Jury Out on Drew Peterson

The jury is now deliberating whether or not Drew Peterson murdered his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

The jury in the Drew Peterson murder trial was sent off to deliberate whether the disgraced ex-cop murdered his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

The jury left the courtroom shortly after 9:30 a.m.

The four alternates were taken to a separate courtroom. They are being held in the event one of the first 12 jurors is taken off the panel due to illness or some other emergency.

One of the six attorneys representing Peterson quibbled with Judge Edward Burmila over the way he was handling the alternate jurors.

The attorney, Steve Greenberg, wanted the four alternates released from service and sent on their way.

Judge Burmila asked what he was supposed to do if one fo the 12 jurors needed to be replaced, and suggested Greenberg wanted him to summon an alternate from home.

Greenberg claimed to have seen that happen before, but that made no difference to Burmila, who put forth another alternative.

"Are you telling me if one (juror) becomes ill, Mr. Peterson will accept a jury of 11?" Judge Burmila asked.

"I think it results in a mistrial," Greenberg said.

"That's what you think," the judge said.

The judge decided to keep the alternates in a separate courtroom.

The deliberations mark the impending conclusion of the five-week trial. More than three dozen witnesses testified over the course of 21 days. Jury selection was completed after two days.

It's all hearsay. There are not any pieces to put together.

It's been an interesting to case to follow over the years, curious to see what happens in the next 24-48 hours.

In this case, the hearsay is what Kathleen and Stacy told the pastor and attorney and were admitted as evidence so the jury can put these pieces together to come to a verdict whether guilty or not guilty. If they believe Kathleen's and Stacy's statements are true then guilty is in order. If it walks like, looks like and quacks like a duck it's a duck. Use you common sense and see what a despicable murderer Peterson really is.

"All of the evidence the jury wants to see is damaging to Peterson's case, indicating the jury may be leaning toward a conviction, court watchers have said." I wonder who these "court watchers" are and why they are deemed worthy of quoting in this story. Just as likely, the jury is looking towards a fast acquital but wants to review the most damning "evidence" first to make sure they aren't missing anything before returning their verdict.

Not Guilty. All hearsay evidence. Waste of time. Will County is a Burger King town with Burger King law enforcement....not capable of handling a crime scene and doing an investigation. Look back to the 80's how long it took them to solve the Milton Johnson murder spree. If they collected the right evidence, investigated correctly, and done the autopsy right the first time, we would know the truth. Bozo's...Burger Kind Bozo's
