Caller's Tip Leads to Arrest of Three Romeoville Car Vandals: Police Report

David M. Gross, Nicholas Clark and Ronald L. Clark are apprehended following an incident in the Ashbrook area.

A bit of heads-up community policing led to the arrest of three men between the ages of 18-20 who were breaking into cars in Romeoville's Ashbrook area, according to Deputy Police Chief Steve Lucchesi.

David M. Gross, 18, of 305 Healy, Romeoville; Nicholas Clark, 18, of 321 McKool, Romeoville; and Ronald L. Clark, 20, of 321 McKool, Romeoville, were apprehended in the early-morning hours Friday (Sept. 20) after police were alerted they were breaking into vehicles by a local resident.

"A woman who looked out her own window said she saw a car pull up and three people get out," Lucchesi said. "They were looking through car windows in the neighborhood and breaking into the cars."

Lucchesi said when officers arrived on the scene, the three men separated and took off running. Lucchesi said police searched on foot for about one hour before nabbing all three suspects.

Gross was charged with burglary, aggravated assault and resisting an officer.

"When officers tired to handcuff him, he resisted and tried to strike one of the officers," Lucchesi said.

Nicholas Clark and Ronald L. Clark were charged with burglary and resisting arrest. All three men were transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
