Bolingbrook Man Nabbed with Stolen Motorcyle

Romeoville police arrested Maurilio Munoz on Saturday.

A Bolingbrook resident was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle after a Saturday traffic stop revealed the motorcycle he was riding was hot.

Maurilio Munoz, 31, 109 Camelot, Bolingbrook, was stopped at Belmont and 135th Street by a Romeoville officer for improper lane use, according to Assistant Chief Steven Lucchesi.

When the officer checked the license plate on the motorcyle, he found out it was registered to another vehicle, Lucchesi said.

“A subsequent check on the VIN on the motorcycle showed that it was stolen out of Gary, Ind.,” he said. It also turned out that Munoz was wanted on a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear in court on charges of driving on a suspended license, Lucchesi added.

Munoz is charged with unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, improper passing on the shoulder, failure to reduce speed and operating an uninsured vehicle. He is being held in lieu of $2,550 bail at the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
