Police Blotter: Burglary, Car Break-In, Property Damage

Arrests and property crime reports made by the Romeoville Police Department.

Jamal O. Norman, 29, 531 Glen, , arrested by the and booked into the Will County jail on July 15 on charges of residential burglary and possession of a stolen firearm.

Property crimes

  • Seventeen cans of baby formula, valued at $267, was reported stolen at about 8 p.m. June 29 from a retail store in the 300 block of Weber Road.
  • Electrical wiring to an air-conditioner unit was reported damaged in an alleged attemp to steal the unit from a residence in the 200 block of Murphy Drive. The incident was reported at about 6:55 p.m. July 2; damage was estimated at $500.
  • Spray paint was used to damage the siding and driveway of a home in the 100 block of Spring Hill Court. The incident was reported at about 10 a.m. July 2; damage was estimated at about $50.
  • A landscape brick was used to damage the back driver’s side window and door of a vehicle parked in front of a home in the 1900 block of Tuscany Lane. The incident was reported at about 9:40 a.m. July 3; damage was estimated at $600.
  • A landscape brick was used to damage the side door and mirror of a vehicle parked in front of a home in the 1700 block of Sierra Trail. The incident was reported at about 10:50 a.m. July 3; damage was estimated at $500.
  • A satellite radio and camcorder, valued at a total of $553, was reported stolen at about 11:10 a.m. July 5 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a home in the 300 block of Richfield Drive reported a burglar to motor vehicle. 
  • Red spray paint was used to damage a wooden fence in the 500 block of Anderson Drive. The incident was reported at about 6:25 p.m. July 7; damage was estimated at $25.
  • A sharp object was used to write words on the door of a pumping station in the 500 block of Belmont. The incident was reported at about 10:30 a.m. July 7; damage was estimated at about $50.
  • Cameras, jewelry, papers, computers and many household appliances were reported stolen from a home in the 500 block of Fenton. Property loss was estimated at $6,000.
