Murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault are all categories of violent crimes. Burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson are all categories of property crimes.

Thank you for publishing this information. While the Uniform Crime Report is certainly helpful, it is important to note that aggregate data without context simply does not provide an accurate depiction of the prevalence of crime within a community. The following additional information may provide some additional insight: For instance, of the nine forcible rapes reported: • 2 cases are from the same incident where an arrest was made • 1 case was where prosecution was declined due to insufficient evidence • 1 case was closed as insufficient evidence / no credible evidence was found • 2 cases were closed as unfounded • 3 cases the victim refusal to cooperate with police Of the reported murders: • 1 was domestic related where the offender was the victim’s son (deemed mentally unfit for trial at this point) • 1 was drug / gang related shooting The men and women of the Woodridge Police Department aggressively employ tactics to prevent crime and they are equally aggressive in enforcement once a crime has been committed. The community’s safety is their top priority.

I wonder how many of those Rapes could have been avoided/stopped IF ILLinois allowed law abiding citizens to carry firearms for lawful defensive purposes??? ILLinois is the ONLY state that does NOT allow law abiding citizens to carry firearems for lawful defensive purposes!!! I'm gonna guess all those Rape victims wish they would have had a firearm with them to prevent the Rape! Illinois State police suggest women remain calm and that they attempt to talk their way out, or that that they yell "fire" or attempt to defend themselves with thier "keys" !!!!!!!! Think I'm kidding?? Check out their web site!!! http://www.isp.state.il.us/docs/1-150.pdf See page 2 under "Confrontation". Hey all you rape victims - did you follow police procedure????
