27-Year-Old Woman Escapes Unharmed from Accident on Weber Road in Romeoville

Christina Billich—the driver of a 2002 Hyundai Accent—lost control of her vehicle, went off the road and struck a light pole on Wednesday afternoon.

A 27-year-old Lockport woman traveling northbound on Weber Road said another vehicle turned in front of her, and she ended up losing control of the 2002 Hyundai Accent she was driving, went off the road and struck a light pole on Wednesday afternoon, according to Romeoville Deputy Police Chief Steve Lucchesi.

The woman—identified as Christina Billich—complained of minor injuries at the scene, was treated by Romeoville Fire Department personnel and released, Lucchesi said.

He said Billich was the only individual in the 2002 Hyundai Accent and that the accident occurred at 1:27 p.m. about 50 feet north of  Normantown Road—not far from Burger King.

Traffic was rerouted for a brief period of time while emergency responders went about their business, Lucchesi said. He said police were unable to locate a second vehicle and that the case is considered closed—unless more information is brought forward by individuals in the area at the time.

No tickets were issued, Lucchesi said.
