Trunk or treating at skoff elm. school .

Does anyone else who has children going to skoff find it kind of strange that an elementary school is going to encourage small children going to the trunk of a strangers car to get candy ? Normally this would not be an issue for me as it is a school function but when my 6 year old daughter tells me its ok to take candy from a strangers car because they do it at school is NOT ok with me . It goes against everything we teach our kods about staying away from strangers and not taking anything from them ! Does anyone else agree with me ?
