Services Scheduled for Del Burns

The longtime village employee died Monday following an accident.

Family and friends will say goodbye to lifelong Romeoville resident and veteran village employee Le’Roy “Del” Burns this week.

Visitation is set for 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at , 606 Townhall Dr.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 16, at the funeral home chapel, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.

He is survived by brother James R. Burns, sister-in-law Leslie Burns and three nephews: Marine Lance Cpl. Christopher J. Burns, Marine Lance Cpl. Kevin J. (Taylor) Burns and Eric Burns, among many other relatives and friends.

“His adventurous spirit led him to classic cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles and the bigger boat the better,” Burns’ family wrote in his obituary. “He lived his life every day to the fullest, made friends wherever he went.”
