Exceptional.

The word has a nice ring to it. And, yes, it was the word used to describe the Romeoville Recreation Center during a recent awards presentation ceremony run by the Illinois Park & Recreation Association.

The Romeoville Recreation Department earned the "Exceptional Workplace" award for 2013 from the IPRA, according to a Village of Romeoville E-News alert.

"We are proud of the continued dedication of the Village staff," Mayor John Noak stated in the alert. "Congratulations to the Recreation Department on this well-deserved distinction."

The award was presented at the IPRA Annual Business meeting on Friday, Jan. 24.
