Read & Rejoice? Irene King Elementary School Program Celebrates Family Time

The public is invited to attend a Family Reading Night event at Romeoville's Irene King Elementary School on Nov. 21.

You've heard the old saw about the family that plays together stays together.

Well, here's a new take on that old theme: The family that reads together rejoices together ... Or something like that.

And the folks at Romeoville's Irene King Elementary School are embracing that notion as they prepare for Irene King Family Reading Night on Nov. 21.

The schedule of events includes a variety of family-fun activities, including a "beans and franks" dinner, according to a Valley View School District news release. Baked beans and hot dogs will be served at a cost of $1 per person from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. (Reservations are required).

A book fair is scheduled to run from 5:30 to 8 p.m. And Reading Night itself will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The public is invited.

For more information or to make dinner reservations, call Irene King Elementary School at (815) 886-3380.
