H.A.R.T. (Homeless Animal Rescue Team) and Shorewood Petco are partnering to create adoption events twice in January! Saturday and Sunday, January 12 & 13th from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at Petco, 990 BrookForest Ave! Come and meet the most lovable, enthusiastic, loyal four-legged friend you'll ever have! From small lap-dogs or indoor animals, to stout but friendly mascots, to athletic, running gun dogs and sporting dogs, don't miss this endearing chance to help your children see and understand the potential of having a lovable pooch to take care of! H.A.R.T of Illinois is a 501c3 nonprofit organization who finds permanent and foster homes for happy, healthy dogs when a County determines they have too many pooches loose. All dogs have had a complete health checkup by a qualified Veterinarian, and are evaluated for how well trained they are and how good they are with children or adults.
As a nonprofit, H.A.R.T. of Illinois, located in Plainfield, is dependent on community volunteers who donate their time and resources, as well as people who donate items for HART's Wish List, which helps maintain daily operations and services. Current needs include simple things like bleach, Dawn dish soap, large trash bags, doggie treats, etc. Jill Kerzisnik, President and Founder, has been involved with animal rescuing for seven years and has extensive experience in managing the Plainfield facility.
