Property Crimes & Battery: Bicycle Swiped, Car Window Shattered

Iphone and case stolen from location on West Taylor Road and criminal defacement of property damage cited in the Honeytree area, according to police reports.

The following property damage, theft and violence incidents were reported to the Romeoville Police Department:

Sept. 18: Dwain E. Sims, 31, 315 Freemont, Romeoville, was arrested by Romeoville police on charges of domestic battery/physical contact. He was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Sept. 2: A resident of the 900 block of Ontario reported a criminal damage to property. Four unknown male teens were seen throwing a rock at a vehicle parked in the street. When the window shattered, the teens fled the area. Estimated cost to repair the damage is $200. Time: 7:41 p.m.

Sept. 4: A theft under $500 was reported in the 400 block of Dalhart. A bicycle that was left unsecured in the driveway was taken by unknown person(s). Estimated value of the bicycle is $300. Time: 8:24 a.m.

Sept. 7: Criminal damage to property was reported in the 400 block of Arnold by the owner of a vehicle that was parked in the street. Unknown person(s) damaged a taillight and driver’s side mirror of the vehicle. Estimated cost to repair the damage is $500. Time: 2:15 a.m.

Sept. 8: A patron of a business in the 0-100 block of Alexander Circle reported a burglary from motor vehicle. A handicapped parking placard was taken by unknown person(s) from an unlocked vehicle. Time: 8:39 a.m.

Sept. 8: A theft under $500 was reported in the 1400 block of West Taylor Road. An iPhone and case that was left unattended was taken by unknown person(s). Estimated value of the item(s) is $300. Time: 7:02 p.m.

Sept. 9: Four criminal defacement of property incidents were reported in the Honeytree area. Cluster mailboxes were defaced by unknown person(s). Estimated cost to remove the graffiti is unknown. Time: 3:49-4:30 p.m.
