Police Blotter: Cost of Items Taken in Residential Burglary Pegged at $1,800
Also, police report a van parked in front of a residence on Hickory Avenue was stolen.
The following incidents were reported by the Romeoville Police Department and the Will County Sheriff’s Office:
Oct. 31: David Herrera, 35, 332 Hemlock, Romeoville was booked by Will County Sheriff’s police on a charge of driving on a suspended license. He was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
Oct. 9: A theft under $500 was reported in the 400 block of South Weber Road. A customer left a shopping cart unattended for a brief period. When she returned, she found her wallet was missing from her purse. Estimated value of the wallet is $39. Time: 2:57 p.m.
Oct. 11: A residential burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Richfield Trail. Unknown person(s) entered the residence and took a jewelry box, jewelry, gift cards and a check book. A door was also damaged. Estimated cost of the items taken and repair to the door is $1,800. Time: 9:54 p.m.
Oct. 16: An attempted burglary was reported in the 0-100 block of Iris Circle. Unknown person(s) tampered with the door handle and deadbolt of the residence but did not gain entry. Time: 4:44 p.m.
Oct. 17: A motor vehicle theft was reported in the 300 block of Hickory. Unknown person(s) took a van that was parked in front of the residence. Estimated value of the vehicle is $400. Time: 7:22 a.m.
Oct. 17: A burglary was reported in the 300 block of Hamrick. A refrigerator and washing machine was taken from the property by unknown person(s). Estimated value of the items taken is $900. Time: 9:27 a.m.
Oct. 17: A theft under $500 was reported in the 1300 block of North Weber Road. Unknown person(s) stole a tire from a vehicle parked in the lot. Estimated cost of the tire is $400. Time: 1:22 p.m.
